We’re now looking for a commercially driven State Sales Manager to lead our Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) sales function and drive growth across your region.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven State Sales Manager to lead sales performance, customer growth and market expansion across a key Truckline territory.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing state sales strategies, leading and coaching a high-performing sales team, strengthening key customer relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced sales leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Managers, Business Development Managers and Customer Service professionals to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute state sales plans, budgets and growth strategies aligned to national business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, transport operators, fleet customers and industry stakeholders to maximise sales opportunities and customer retention.
  • Partner with Branch Managers and operational leaders to drive sales growth and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse market trends and identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability and market share.
  • Lead key account planning, contract negotiations and commercial discussions to secure long-term customer partnerships.
  • Collaborate with National Sales, Marketing and Product teams to deliver effective go-to-market initiatives and local campaigns.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that prioritises safety, accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

You are a proven sales leader with strong commercial acumen, excellent relationship-building skills and a track record of delivering sales growth.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and use insights to improve performance.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience within the heavy vehicle, transport, trucking, automotive aftermarket, industrial or distribution sectors.
  • Relevant qualification in Business, Marketing or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the state as required.
