We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Have experience leading and sharing your skills and experience across a team of diverse engineers

• Demonstrated experience building and implementing a mature SRE capability

• Provide technical strategy and guidance, overseeing complex engineering initiatives

• Drive the development of strategic programs of work, including proof of concept developments

• Are comfortable working as team players and happy to take the time to perform peer design/ code reviews applying software reuse principles and developing creative solutions to debt management

• Pride themselves on their knowledge and hands-on experience in Site Reliability, automation and toil elimination.

• Have solid hands-on experience with process methodology, development methodologies (SRE, Agile, SDLC)

• Drive the team under incidents in complex RCA and technical cause with an urgency on restoration of service and reducing customer impact

• Are constantly demonstrating coding, design, debugging and problem-solving skills

• Utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technical implementation

• Follow best practices and industry standards in the team
  Identify, gain support for, and ensure execution of strategic direction in areas of expertise

• Contribute to internal online discussion around software engineering, delivery and technology (for example blog posts and knowledge base articles)
   

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Strong experience in Scripting languages, bash, PowerShell or any other structured language

• Strong experience in AWS cloud and cloud patterns, certified in AWS and Kubernetes desirable

• Experience in on-prem to cloud interop desirable

• DB knowledge

• API’s 

• Serverless and microservice architecture

• GitHub, GitActions, TeamCity

• Kubernetes, Helm, EKS

• Architecture principles

• Strong experience implementing best practices for monitoring solutions and CI/CD pipeline

• AWS Code Pipeline

• Web services, REST/SOAP/XML and API/Service based testing using tools such as POSTMAN and Pact

• Selenium, SonarQube, WiZ, Splunk, Observe, PagerDuty, Prometheus/Grafana, Terraform

• Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

• OpenText knowledge – Documentum and InfoArchive desirable but not a mandate
