What You’ll Do
Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstra's software and IT systems, working on some really cutting-edge technologies.
As the Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the End User Computing (EUC) team that maintains and delivers to Telstra’s overall digital workplace and employee experience. This will be a DevOps based role which involves development/engineering and configuration management within our EUC team.
• Design and engineer PC client and endpoint management environments to meet the business needs within accepted corporate guidelines.
• Work with product owners and architects to articulate roadmaps in the end user computing space including new developments in modern desktop as technology shifts from Client Management Tools and Enterprise Mobility Management into Unified/Co Endpoint Management and IoT, and expect responsibilities to change as our technology implementation does.
• Implementation, administration and configuration of Intune Enterprise environment, Intune current branch infrastructure.
• Windows update rings and driver management using Intune policies.
• Provide recommendation and guidance to management for the support or non-support of evaluated products, including desktop computing, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Supporting the End User Services operations teams in troubleshooting any enrolment or app installation issues.
• Functional working and debugging knowledge of PC hardware, BIOS/UEFI, and operating systems.
• Design, build and support new Infrastructure technologies and services, with a focus towards “automation” (PowerShell scripting) and AzureAD DevOps and MS Graph API.
• Taking ownership of issues escalated to engineering and 4th line support for all domain related subject matter.
• Proactively contributes to the betterment of other engineers in the team and company, through sponsoring, mentoring and providing constructive, candid feedback.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who has skills/ experiences in the following:
• 5+ years’ experience in Desktop engineering or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge in Desktop deployment automation architecture, design/migration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Scripting, PowerShell, VBScript.
• Managing large corporate environments and client machines troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience or knowledge in Ethernet based TCP/IP Networking Technologies
• Desktop virtualization and thin client technologies.
• Active Directory, AzureAD, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP.
• Strong Knowledge and hands-on experience building Intune capabilities like Autopilot & Pre-Provisioning.
• Degree in Engineering/IT or related discipline
Desirable skills:
• Virtualisation
• Microsoft modern certifications preferred eg. Endpoint Administrator
• Background in Agile or DevOps discipline
