About the Role (your why)
The Solutions Manager leads the presales function, guiding the creation of technical solutions for strategic growth.
You will lead a team of Solution Architects who design high-quality customer technical solutions and support Datacom's sales teams across Australia by preparing and presenting effective RFP responses.
As the Solutions Manager, you will lead in developing appealing and commercially viable customer technical solutions, creating value for both the customer and Datacom. This role involves direct customer interaction to understand their needs and shape the solution.
Our offices are in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, with travel sometimes needed to serve customers. We value in-person interaction but also recognise the benefits of working from home and with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Please note, due to our customer requirements, you must have Australian Citizenship and be willing to gain an Australian Government Security Clearance to be considered for this position.
What you’ll do
The Solutions Manager is responsible for (but not limited to):
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with customer stakeholder to align technology strategy with business objectives, aligning technology and solution investments that drive growth for their business.
- Customer-Centric Solutions: Design solutions that are customer-focused, balancing emerging technologies verses the implementation risks and considering the impacts of integration, scalability, and customisation.
- Leadership and Team Development: Mentor technical teams, promote diverse and visionary solution thinking while supporting the customer solution objectives and driving business value.
- Cost Optimisation: Promote solutions with technologies that optimise costs, improve operational efficiency and delivers mutual value.
- Provide Leadership: Activity promote and education solution teams on advancements in technology, solution approaches, enterprise architecture and commercial principles.
- Presales Support: Support sales teams in technical solution discussions, gathering requirements, defining outcomes and presenting solution possibilities.
- Presales Execution: Leading the solution creation, contributing to bid strategy to formal sales responses such as RFP / RFI / RFQ, ensuring solutions are commercially sound and can be delivered to meet the customers outcomes.
- Sales Enablement: Create high quality, reusable content for formal bids, contribute to sales enablement collateral and create thought leadership content.
- Skill Development: Manage time for professional development to improve knowledge and skills in evolving technology to improve bids and solutions.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience in leading technical teams and providing compelling solutions for large complex opportunities
- Successful background in solution architecture and consulting to develop solutions for our customers
- Strong business writing and presentation skills
- Strong financial acumen in relation to business case generation
- A track record in building effective teams and management of change
- Experience and ability to operate effectively in a large, cross functional, and geographic multinational environment
- Ability to transform customer requirements into a RFPs and work according to deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and be able to prioritise your time
- Ability to adapt and apply existing techniques and methodologies to new uses.
- Broad set of knowledge across outsourced, application, infrastructure, cloud and networking domains.
