About the Role (your why)

As Solution Sales Specialist , you’ll represent Datacom to a broad range of customers, both Government and Corporate, promoting professional service offerings and developing new business opportunities for Datacom.

The key to success in this role is your ability to be innovative and creative in ensuring targets are met or exceeded by selling Datacom’s solutions to drive Professional Services revenue across a range of platforms including: Dynamics, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Data Analytics & AI.

You should have detailed knowledge of the Australian Professional Services market, proven experience working with government agencies and corporate customers and be a high achiever. Your success will be ensured by your proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, partners.

This role is based in Melbourne. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What you’ll bring

We are looking for an experienced Solution Sales Specialist with at least 8+ years’ sales experience working within the Applications & Cloud Services market. You will be a self-motivated, driven, and a results-orientated team player with a successful track record in solution selling.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Solid understanding of the Applications and Cloud Services market with a substantial network at the C-level within government and corporate customers
  • Extensive experience driving AWS solution sales for complex, multi-layered projects across diverse Victoria-based organizations
  • Understanding of the applications Services market with the technical nous to pick up new offerings and services
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles including RFP responses, working with Datacom’s pre-sales teams, line-of-business owners and solution architects
  • Proven ability to qualify opportunities quickly
  • Maintaining currency of knowledge, training and engagement with relevant partners
  • Ability to absorb, apply and communicate technical information to a diverse audience
  • Excellent customer and vendor relationship building and management skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Supporting and enriching the existing strategic vendor relationships to ensure Datacom is top of mind for opportunities
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Experience in using Salesforce as the sales CRM for tracking opportunity progression through the sales cycle.
