As a Solution Engineer (Early in Profession), you'll help customers explore what's possible with cloud, AI, data, analytics, security, and modern application technologies by bringing innovative technology solutions to life.
Working alongside experienced technical specialists and sales teams, you'll help customers solve business challenges through solution demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, and technical engagements. You'll develop expertise across Azure, AI, data, security, and modern application development, while building the skills needed to become a trusted technology advisor.
This role is designed for individuals who have 2 to 4 years of related experience and are curious about AI, passionate about technology, and excited to solve real-world problems. We're looking for individuals with a growth mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach, who are eager to learn, collaborate, and help customers discover and adopt innovative Microsoft solutions.

Responsibilities
Build Strategy
- Reviews customer interactions and raises competitive information to account teams to contribute to development and landing of compete strategies.
- Contributes to product strategy by soliciting and communicating customer feedback.
- Tailors Microsoft standard messaging to audience using knowledge of specific Microsoft products.
Education
- Promotes readiness to internal teams.
- Consumes and leverages readiness materials to expand domain knowledge and expertise by communicating with customers, partners, and senior colleagues.
- Participates as a member in the Microsoft tech community, attends community calls, sessions, hackathons, etc., and acts as a resource for their technology area.
Leverage Partner Ecosystem
- Builds awareness of partner technical capacity through observation.
- Engages in partner sell-with scenarios by contributing to the facilitation of technical engagements and partnering with colleagues to manage the sales process.
Scale Customer Engagements
- Develops understanding of current customer context and anticipates next steps. Uses product expertise to build credibility with customers and act as a trusted advisor to assess and consult on their security needs.
- Engages other resources, leveraging basic resource knowledge, for key areas of technology as needed to overcome technical blockers on assigned technology set.
- Engages with and reaches out to customers with coaching from others.
- Drives technical wins or portions of technical wins with support from peers. Improves customer interactions through feedback and observation.
Solution Design and Proof
- Contributes to demonstrations and proof-of-concept (POC) sessions of solutions based on specific Microsoft products through initial engagements and coaching from senior colleagues. Leverages partner/customer teams as needed to prove product capabilities and integration into customer environments.
- Builds own awareness of digital transformation sales methodologies.
- Presents reference architectures to partners or customers for key parts of their technology sets.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field AND a minimum 2 years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, technology delivery, or related experience, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field AND 2 to 4 years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, solution delivery, or a related technology role.
