A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Solution Architect- Wireless Core

A bit about your role

At nbn, this role is central to shaping the Fixed Wireless core network architecture that enables secure, scalable and high-performance Fixed Wireless services across Australia.

We are seeking a Solution Architect – Wireless Core to lead the design and evolution of core network solutions and roadmap, ensuring seamless integration across access, transport, management systems and operations platforms.

As Solution Architect – Wireless Core, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution design for wireless core network systems, ensuring scalability, performance and resilience
  • Define and govern core network architecture across control plane, user plane and service platforms
  • Own and drive the wireless core network roadmap, aligning technology evolution with business priorities, capacity management rules and lifecycle requirements
  • Develop and maintain multi-year delivery plans for core network capabilities, including capacity expansion, technology upgrades and capability introduction
  • Develop solution designs that integrate radio access network, transport network and operational systems into a cohesive end-to-end solution
  • Ensure alignment with Element Management Systems, network management platforms and information technology operations support systems
  • Drive cloud-native and application programming interface driven architecture patterns across wireless core platforms
  • Support real-time data processing, telemetry and observability requirements within core network solutions
  • Provide technical leadership for integration, testing, deployment and lifecycle management of core network capabilities
  • Translate business requirements into practical, deployable and scalable technical solutions

A bit about you

The ideal candidate has strong telecommunications engineering expertise across complex network operations, design, construction, and technical delivery, with the ability to identify, design, and implement engineering solutions that address current and emerging network challenges. They bring experience leading technical teams, collaborating across stakeholders, and delivering outcomes that align with solution architecture, regulatory requirements, and optimal network performance. Exposure to agile ways of working and project management practices will be highly regarded.
