Who We Are

Healthcare needs a better rhythm: one that keeps care continuous and deeply human. Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to make that possible.

We’re a team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives building tools that help clinicians stay focused on what matters most: their patients.

In just 18 months, Heidi has given back more than 18 million hours to healthcare professionals — supporting 73 million patient visits in 116 countries. Today, more than two million patient visits each week are powered by Heidi worldwide.

Backed by nearly $100 million in funding, we’re growing in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, partnering with leading health systems including the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.

About the Role

You’ll help build and scale the cloud infrastructure that powers Heidi’s healthcare AI platform. This role sits within the Engineering Platform team — responsible for reliability, automation, and developer productivity. You’ll work across AWS and Azure environments, manage Kubernetes workloads, improve CI/CD pipelines, and embed security and observability into everything we ship.

What You’ll Do

  • Own infrastructure automation: Build and maintain Terraform modules, Helm charts, and reusable CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).

  • Scale our Kubernetes platform: Operate and improve EKS clusters (multi-region), add new services, enhance security, and optimize deployments.

  • Enhance observability: Implement metrics, logs, and tracing using Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and synthetic monitoring.

  • Improve release reliability: Enforce safe deployment patterns (canary, blue/green, approvals) and manage environment promotion flows.

  • Support developer self-service: Extend “paved road” tooling for app teams — environment scaffolds, secrets management, and automated provisioning.

  • Security and compliance: Apply least-privilege IAM, secret rotation, image signing, and supply-chain hardening (JFrog, GHAS).

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product pods to embed reliability, incident response, and SLO ownership.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3–5 years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering roles.

  • Experience running production systems on AWS or Azure (EKS, ECS, or AKS).

  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills (Terraform, Helm).

  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or other CI/CD & GitOps tools.

  • Understanding of networking, security groups, DNS, WAFs, and certificates.

  • Observability mindset (metrics, logs, traces, alerting).

  • Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).

  • Comfort troubleshooting distributed systems and performance issues.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS + Azure).

  • Exposure to Karpenter, Linkerd, or service mesh architectures.

  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 / HIPAA / APRA-style compliance.

  • Familiarity with MongoDB Atlas, Redis, or Postgres cloud deployments.

The Way We Work

1. Build to Last

We design for safety and reliability so clinicians, patients, and our teams can trust what we build every day.

2. Own Your Practice

Ideas rise on merit, not title, and everyone shares responsibility for the standards we set together.

3. Move Fast, Stay Steady

We move quickly but never at the cost of trust. Progress only matters if people can depend on what we make.

4. Make Others Better

Honest feedback, steady support, and shared growth keep our teams improving together.

Why you will flourish with us

  • Flexible hybrid working environment, with 3 days in the office.

  • Special corporate rates at Anytime Fitness in Melbourne, Sydney tbc.

  • A generous personal development budget of $500 per annum

  • Learn from some of the best engineers and creatives, joining a diverse team

  • Become an owner, with shares (equity) in the company, if Heidi wins, we all win

  • The rare chance to create a global impact as you immerse yourself in one of Australia’s leading healthtech startups

  • If you have an impact quickly, the opportunity to fast track your startup career!

Heidi is dedicated to creating an equitable, inclusive, and supportive work environment that brings people together from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Our strength is in our differences. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome all applicants as we're committed to promoting a culture of opportunity for all.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
