The Squiz product team is expanding as it works to deliver a cloud-based digital experience platform (DXP). Squiz DXP (Digital Experience Platform) is a software solution that helps businesses to create and manage digital experiences for their customers. It provides a wide range of tools and features that can be used to build and maintain websites, mobile apps, and other digital channels.
As a Software Engineer for the Search core product team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a world-class search engine product using best practices and techniques. The core team is currently undertaking significant enhancements to the core search engine, with a focus on cutting edge technologies such as AI/LLM integration.
Responsibilities
- Create, improve and maintain code, with a focus on back-end development of the search engine core
- Contribute towards C to C++ uplift of existing code base
- Development of code that has been run in production environments with users
- Develop/enhance robust application code which meets all technical requirements
- Apply best development practices across all your work
- Write and maintain software documentation
Skills
- Experience using C/C++ coding languages, experience with Java would also be beneficial
- Knowledge and interest in information retrieval and/or machine learning is a major benefit but not essential
- Good understanding of testing principles and frameworks
- Good understanding of extensible, modular software design
- Some understanding of DevOps principles and practices would be a plus
- A self-motivated individual who communicates and articulates well

- This position is open to candidates in the eastern states of Australia
