Description

The Squiz product team is expanding as it works to deliver a cloud-based digital experience platform (DXP). Squiz DXP (Digital Experience Platform) is a software solution that helps businesses to create and manage digital experiences for their customers. It provides a wide range of tools and features that can be used to build and maintain websites, mobile apps, and other digital channels.

As a Software Engineer for the Search core product team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a world-class search engine product using best practices and techniques. The core team is currently undertaking significant enhancements to the core search engine, with a focus on cutting edge technologies such as AI/LLM integration.

Responsibilities

  • Create, improve and maintain code, with a focus on back-end development of the search engine core
  • Contribute towards C to C++ uplift of existing code base
  • Development of code that has been run in production environments with users
  • Develop/enhance robust application code which meets all technical requirements
  • Apply best development practices across all your work
  • Write and maintain software documentation

Skills

  • Experience using C/C++ coding languages, experience with Java would also be beneficial
  • Knowledge and interest in information retrieval and/or machine learning is a major benefit but not essential
  • Good understanding of testing principles and frameworks
  • Good understanding of extensible, modular software design
  • Some understanding of DevOps principles and practices would be a plus
  • A self-motivated individual who communicates and articulates well

  • This position is open to candidates in the eastern states of Australia
