Overview
The Integrated Marketing and Communications team at Mastercard is looking for a dynamic Social Media Specialist. This role is integral in collaborating closely with the Integrated Marketing and Communications team, vendors and clients to roll out marketing projects. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the overall development of social strategies and executing the end-to-end campaigns.

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing a compelling social media strategy that aligns with our brand and business goals. This role requires a creative thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of increasing brand visibility, engagement, and customer loyalty through social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian market and social media landscape, with the ability to create meaningful connections with our audience.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a regional social media strategy that supports brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth.
• Manage and grow social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, etc.) for the Australian region, ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
• Plan, create, and curate engaging and on-brand content, including copy, images, videos, and interactive posts, that resonate with our audience.
• Monitor and analyse social media performance using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing strategy and content.
• Engage with followers, influencers, and brand advocates, building relationships and fostering an active online community.
• Work closely with the global marketing team to ensure the Australian region’s social media efforts align with broader company goals.
• Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring the company remains competitive and innovative on all platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver high-quality social media campaigns.
• Manage paid social media advertising campaigns, optimizing for reach, engagement, and conversion.
• Report on social media performance, including growth, engagement, and ROI, to senior management.
• Support the IMC team with other content creation such as EDMs, Pricless.com and Newsletters
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand or company, preferably in a global or regional context.
• Proven track record of creating successful social media campaigns and growing online communities.
• Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube) and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.).
• Strong copywriting, editing, and content creation skills.
• Ability to analyse data, interpret social media metrics, and provide actionable insights.
• Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt content to different platforms.
• Experience with paid social media advertising and knowledge of best practices for optimizing ads.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for storytelling and building authentic relationships with audiences.
