A bit about us

Sendle builds shipping that is good for the world. We help small businesses thrive by making parcel delivery simple, reliable, and affordable. We’re a B Corp and the first 100% carbon neutral delivery service in Australia, Canada, and the United States, where we harness major courier networks to create a delivery service that levels the playing field for small businesses.

We envision a world where small businesses can compete on a level playing field with the big guys. Sendle is a fast-growing business with bold ambitions and big dreams.

In the last few years, we’ve made huge strides towards our goal of becoming the largest SMB eCommerce courier in the world, moving from a single country operation in Australia to successful launch and operation in the US and Canada.  We’ve also launched major partnerships with Vestiaire Collective, eBay, Shopify and, Etsy too!

But most importantly, we’re a bunch of good people doing good work. Wanna join us?

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to help drive the product direction of a can’t-live-without shipping solution for small businesses. We are looking for someone that is passionate about finding product market fit, understanding customer needs and designing great solutions to customer problems. You'll be joining a product management team grounded in values of collaboration, problem-solving and growth.

As the primary advocate for our users, this role works closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand user needs, translate them into seamless designs, and ensure usability is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

This role brings design leadership, hands-on execution, and a strong focus on user research and validation — enabling the team to build products that not only meet business goals but also deliver real value to our customers. As part of a cross-functional team, the Senior UX Designer ensures we stay aligned with our vision, reduce risk through early testing, and create delightful, functional, and accessible experiences at scale.

About the team

Our Product & Design team is grounded in collaboration and driven to develop products that customers can’t live without. We are more than a digital product, so while we work closely with our technology partners in engineering, and integrations, our network team is a critical partner in the evolution of our product. Your business stakeholders will be based in AU and the US, while your product engineering and design partners are primarily based in Australia. Our organization is fully remote and we value outcomes delivered over time spent in an office.

About the role

As a Senior UX Designer on our virtual network and value-added shipping platform, you’ll play a vital role in shaping simple, elegant, and user-centered experiences that help Australian, US and Canadian small businesses navigate logistics with confidence.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure our solutions are not only functional, but also intuitive and delightful to use.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer-Centered Design: Conduct user research, usability testing, and journey mapping to deeply understand customer pain points, workflows, and behaviors. You’ll champion the voice of the user across the product lifecycle, ensuring design decisions are grounded in real user needs.
  • Crafting Seamless Experiences: Translate product and business requirements into high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and user flows. You’ll bring clarity to complex problems and create experiences that feel effortless for our customers, whether they’re booking a shipment or tracking a delivery.
  • Design System and UI Consistency: Help maintain and evolve our design system to ensure visual and interaction consistency across the platform. You’ll collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with product managers and engineers in cross-functional teams to explore and test ideas early. You’ll participate in discovery sessions, ideation workshops, and design reviews to move quickly and stay aligned. You’ll also work closely with our UX writer to create a seamless user experience. You’ll collaborate on UI copy, content strategy, and information architecture to ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility across the platform.
  • Data-Informed Decisions: Partner with the data and research teams to analyze usage patterns, run A/B tests, and identify opportunities to improve the user experience. You’ll use both qualitative and quantitative data to guide your work.
  • Support for Product Launches: Collaborate with product and marketing teams to ensure new features are intuitive from day one. You’ll contribute to onboarding experiences and UI copy that help customers get value quickly.
  • Post-Launch Iteration: Gather feedback from users and stakeholders after launch to identify areas of friction or confusion, and proactively suggest improvements. You’ll play a key role in continuously refining the experience.
  • Design Leadership: As a senior team member, you’ll guide design direction, and help elevate design maturity across the organization. You’ll be a trusted voice in balancing usability, business needs, and technical constraints.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who loves solving real-world problems and wants to have meaningful impact. You’ll have autonomy, variety, and the chance to help shape the future of digital logistics for small businesses.

Let’s talk about you

  • You are excited by the challenge of simplifying complexity and bringing clarity to ambiguous problems.
  • You believe design is a team sport and love collaborating with product managers, engineers, and others to bring ideas to life.
  • You’re comfortable sharing your work early, seeking feedback, and iterating quickly.

  • You’re curious about how things work behind the scenes and enjoy learning about the logistics space and the people who use our platform.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
