What You’ll Do

  • Lead and define API & Microservices solution architecture in collaboration with business partners, end users, business analysts and technology teams.
  • Ensure all the architecture designs meet key functional, non-functional and security requirements.
  • Owning and managing technical and solution risks working to reduce and mitigate at earliest opportunity.
  • Create Software Architecture Document, High Level and Low-Level Design documents including Non-functional requirements for the project.
  • Involve and contribute to project impact assessment and cost estimation process.
  • Understand the requirements, current state architecture of the enterprise and create a roadmap for future enhancements accordingly.
  • Ensuring that all parties understand the solution and elaborate on the solution design where required to achieve this goal.
  • Actively participate in design walkthroughs, maintain solution architecture documentation up to date.
  • Good time management and ability to efficiently manage multiple projects at the same time.

About You

  • Proven experience in defining and delivering solution architecture for enterprise-grade applications, ensuring scalability, performance, resilience, and security.
  • Strong expertise in microservices architecture patterns, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, observability, and fault tolerance.
  • Hands-on experience with API-first design using OpenAPI (Swagger) for RESTful services.
  • Full-stack development experience highly desirable using:
  • Frontend frameworks: Angular and/or React
  • Backend technologies: Spring Boot or C++ microservices
  • Strong understanding of event-driven, event-based, and message-based architectures, including distributed transaction patterns (e.g., Saga, eventual consistency).
  • Practical experience with event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka and messaging systems like ActiveMQ, including producer/consumer design and stream processing.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, with preference for Couchbase or similar distributed data platforms.
  • Exposure to big data ecosystems is highly desirable.
  • Advanced (preferred) experience in high-performance and low-latency systems, including:
  • High-speed packet capture using C++, Boost, and DPDK
  • Hot path optimization, concurrency, and memory management techniques
  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, highly available systems, including authentication, authorization, and data protection best practices.
  • Experience working in multi-vendor, distributed, and cross-cultural teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), and observability tooling (monitoring, logging, tracing).

  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet the required project timeframes
  • Able to manage and prioritise workload to optimise business results
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation, taking direction from both line and project management.
  • Self-starter, able to get up to speed quickly and work independently.
  • 8-10 + years of experience working in software development 
  • Permanent resident or citizenship
