Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to be a key contributor in the analysis and design phases within our Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), driving system design and embedding industry best practices.
You’ll join an innovative Customer Platform team, responsible for delivering business capabilities for Tolling services on Australian Toll Roads and providing exceptional customer services for Australian Tolling brands.
As our Senior Technical Business Analyst, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities by working in a collaborative Squad, contributing to business solutions, and role modelling technical analysis. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.
Day-to-day, you will:
· Technical analysis and solution design for mission-critical platforms, systems, and applications, particularly within Oracle environments.
· Ability to lead the analysis of current ("as is") processes, systems, applications, and data flows to establish a baseline for change, and to develop and maintain functional and interface specifications.
· Experience in developing and executing specific use cases designed to validate areas of change, end-to-end processes, and the overall fit-for-purpose of the system architecture.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with and tailor communications to both technical and business stakeholders.
· Demonstrable experience working in a Squad, adhering to SDLC processes, and utilizing various delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Iterative approaches.
· Strong experience with data, data models, and SQL/Data Querying skills.
· Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in standard office tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and delivery toolsets (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
· Commitment to continuous improvement of analysis frameworks and ways of working, adapting to the changing needs of the organization.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
· Experience working in similar roles within Tolling, Utilities, or Financial Services sectors.
· Experience in a role where you have analysed and delivered projects, solutions, or functional enhancements across Customer, Billing, Payments, Data Migration, and Integration.
· Experience working in Oracle Products such as Oracle Customer Care and Billing, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle Database.
· Ability to translate business needs to technical team members and technical realities to business colleagues.
· Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining functional and/or interface specifications.
· Demonstrated experience in data and data models, with SQL/Data Querying skills.
· Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in the "office toolset" (i.e., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel) and "Delivery toolset" (i.e., JIRA, Confluence).
If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:
· A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year
· 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well
· Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests
· Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more
· Share offers and insurance benefits
· Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days
We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
