Senior Sustainability Advisor - Operations and Projects

About the role 

We’re seeking a Senior Sustainability Advisor– Operations & Projects, to provide operational and project delivery support to ensure sustainability strategy objectives and targets are integrated into business operations and new projects. 
 

You’ll join an innovative team, who are dedicated to driving sustainable outcomes and positioning Transurban as a leader in delivering and operating sustainable infrastructure.
 

As our Senior Sustainability Advisor– Operations & Projects, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work. 

Day-to-day, you will: 

• Provide technical sustainability guidance for the design, construction, and operation of assets

• Provide expert technical sustainability advice to business leaders, operational and project teams aligned to our sustainability strategy, identifying priorities and implementing initiatives that drive high impact sustainable outcomes including biodiversity, water and materials

• Identify improvement opportunities and support the achievement of sustainability targets

• Monitor operational sustainability performance and share learnings across the business

• Work closely with project teams to support ISC (and similar) benchmarking / third party verification tools and platforms

• Lead the continual improvement of sustainable operations and projects

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

• Strong knowledge of sustainability principles and commercial drivers for sustainability

• Sustainability, environmental, engineering, related tertiary qualification is essential

• Extensive experience in operational and project delivery roles

• Infrastructure experience is essential

• Ability to implement sustainability initiatives at asset and / project level to drive performance outcomes

• Demonstrated project management expertise

• Ability to develop credibility and trust with stakeholders
