About The Team

The AI & Platform Services (AIPS) team is at the heart of SEEK's technological evolution, delivering AI-powered core services that operate at global scale. We power search, recommendations, candidate matching, ontological services, behavioral tracking, and personalization across the SEEK network.

Our cross-functional squads combine AI specialists, strategists, and engineers to tackle SEEK's most complex challenges. You'll be joining the Recommendations team — where we're revolutionizing how millions of candidates discover opportunities and how hirers find their perfect match.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a passionate Senior Engineer to help solve some of SEEK's most interesting technical challenges. You'll work alongside data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers to build and scale AI-powered recommendation systems that directly impact millions of users worldwide.

What You'll Do

Build Scalable AI Systems:

• Design and develop high-performance recommendation components that power candidate matching at global scale
• Own system architecture decisions and evolve them using industry best practices and SEEK's engineering principles
• Take full ownership of your services in production — ensuring uptime, rapid troubleshooting, and meeting performance SLAs

Drive Technical Excellence:

• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps practices and cloud-native technologies
• Support experimentation platforms that enable rapid iteration and improvement of recommendation algorithms
• Coordinate implementation processes while maintaining high standards and keeping teams aligned with roadmaps

Collaborate & Influence:

• Partner closely with data scientists to operationalize ML models and bring research insights into production
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to shape product evolution and drive critical technical decisions
• Stay current with AI/ML engineering trends and contribute to architectural improvements that enable faster scaling

What You'll Bring

Technical Foundation:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills in Python, Scala, or Java
• Advanced AWS cloud platform experience and proven ability to build scalable, resilient systems
• Solid SQL skills, Linux/Bash proficiency, and experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Professional Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in cross-functional collaboration
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends

Bonus: Experience with AI/ML platforms, Golang, or Apache Spark is a plus but not required.
