The role will be joining the Perpetual Digital Team, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

About the Role

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with end-to-end ownership of production services, spanning backend, frontend, and cloud delivery. You will be joining the development team responsible for the design and build of software products, platform services and infrastructure across a variety of cloud technologies supporting the banking and finance industry.   You will have the opportunity to build and evolve modern software, with broad technical responsibilities across our products including greenfield projects and technologies.  You will play a key part in shaping the Perpetual Business Intelligence Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Development Practice

• Contribute to multi-year vision and product roadmap

• Follow coding best practices

• Utilise Agile project management methodologies

• Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Contribute to product initiatives to deliver robust and scalable solutions toward this vision, incorporate new technologies as appropriate.

• Contribute to a team culture that values delivering customer value quickly, and iteratively

• As applicable, contribute to maintaining our ongoing ISO 9001 and 27001 compliance

• Maintain procedures around information management and security.

Technical Delivery

• Translating business requirements to efficient application code

• Write efficient, clean, tested and documented code ready for reuse by others

• Optimising application for maximum speed and scalability across various platforms and devices

• Participating in tool and technology selection processes and creating proof of concept models for new technologies and approaches

• Creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Delivery environments

• Build, support, and maintain the Perpetual Business Intelligence (BI) platform using Azure cloud services

• Manage the Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline and automation processes

• Release management

• Identify and specify new systems to improve service delivery and collaborate with clients on the procurement, development and commissioning of those systems

• Training and mentoring staff who lack familiarity with the more technical aspects of IT, SDLC and Azure solutions

• Write SQL queries

• Manage data and enhance current processes through system developments that improve process efficiency

• Develop SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) tabular models

• Integrate the SSAS tabular models with Power BI for dashboard reporting purposes.

About you

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems or comparable industry experience

• 7+ years’ experience in software engineering, including experience leading teams (formal or informal) and uplifting standards/culture. Experience in working in an agile product team

• Experience working on ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, C#

• Experience working on Angular 11+, Typescript, Smart / Dumb Component Architecture, Angular Material, SCSS, HTML5 & CSS3

• Experience working on Azure, App Service, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, SignalR, Azure SQL DB, T-SQL, Entity Framework Core.

• Experience with GIT / DevOps source control and CI tools

• work experience with Azure technologies and services (ADF, DevOps, Logic Apps, Web Functions, Databricks etc.)

• Strong communications skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders in the business ranging from Analysts to Senior Management

• Strong attention to detail

• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience developing cloud solution

• Experience with data analysis and modelling.
