The Opportunity
We are looking for Software Engineers to support the LAND4140 Battle Management System (BMS) Project as part of the Battlespace Communications System (BCS) Enterprise. This role is based in Brisbane.
BCS is a cutting-edge networking product that is the centerpiece for multiple projects and campaigns. The BCS combines both developmental and off the shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for ADF personnel. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customized for various mission needs. The LAND4140 BMS Project will enhance and update the ADF's existing BMS with a world leading mission critical tactical awareness capability.
We have a range of opportunities available for software and systems engineers with knowledge and experience in hardware integration and networking.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of robust software with a focus on cyber security, scalability and performance.
  • Design, development, integration and test of integrated hardware and software systems.
  • Write code to solve complex problems
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with a team, in a conscientious and inclusive way.

Experience/Qualifications
Essential:
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.

Desirable:
  • Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments
  • Linux skills with an understanding of the OS, Sys-admin and Virtualization
  • Experience in building secure applications in a Linux environment
  • Software language and open-source package knowledge (Python, java-script, C programming, and UI design) are highly desirable.
  • IP networking protocols and implementation of network security
  • Can take part in all aspects of the software development lifecycle with an agile mindset.
