Department OverviewThe Senior Project Manager/Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of assigned projects and governance of all projects as a portfolio of work for Motorola’s customers in a defined territory.
The objective of this role is to professionally deliver assigned projects and govern all other projects, both internally and externally, that satisfy key project (tactical) and commercial & contractual (strategic) objectives. The Senior Project Manager/Program Manager will operate with a ‘client centric’ focus.
Job Description
Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.
Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.
Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.
Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.
Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status.
Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance.
May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
Basic Requirements
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or certification in Project Management or Business Management (PRINCE2, PMBOK).
- Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or similar).
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Communications, Electrical / Electronic), Information Technology or related discipline.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Essential:
- Minimum of 10 years multi-disciplinary experience in project management within the information technology and/or telecommunications industry.
Desirable:
- Experience in radio communications or communications infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Systems Engineering or Defence Engineering principles.
- Contract and financial management.
