The Job At-A-Glance:
The Senior Program Manager will oversee and manage large-scale high-complexity software implementation, conversion and integration programs from inception to completion for clients within the financial services industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in program management, excellent leadership and negotiation skills, strong executive presence, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards successful project delivery.
A Typical Day:
- Lead and manage large-scale programs, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Develop and implement program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define program objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring program goals are achieved within constraints.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including technical, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Monitor program progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
- Regularly interact with internal and external leadership, including executives, acting as the primary escalation point.
- Create and maintain program documentation, including standard artifacts and reporting dashboards.
- Define and manage program governance (controls). Actively manage risks and issues, taking appropriate corrective measures.
- Maintain a forward-looking view of assigned programs, anticipating issues before they arise.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the program team.
- Interpret contract terms and manage program scope and deliverables accordingly.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in program management, with a focus on large-scale software implementation, conversion, and integration programs, preferably within the financial services industry.
- PMP strongly preferred
- Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex projects and programs in a matrixed environment, including delegation of tasks and measurement of progress.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead through influence.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to anticipate needs and effectively manage risk.
- Ability to think independently and consider cross-functional and downstream impacts.
- Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMP).
- Expertise in MS Project and JIRA.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to financial services preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
