As a Senior Product Manager, you will take ownership of new and existing products to drive excellence in both customer and business value. You will navigate complex product spaces and manage the entire lifecycle from early-stage research and ideation through to implementation and continuous improvement. Your work will focus on identifying and solving tough, meaningful customer problems while framing solutions that are tested and refined in a complex environment.

In this role, you will lead the overall product strategy and execution for the frontend experience of Xero, including our design system. Your impact will be significant as you improve how internal teams work and drive modernised, world-class experiences for millions of customers globally. By scaling reusable systems and influencing the quality of experiences delivered, you will help build a stronger economy and empower small businesses everywhere.

The team / how they connect

You will join a focused product management team, collaborating closely with two engineering teams across Australia and New Zealand. This group builds and maintains core capabilities, such as Xero’s design system and building blocks, to power a cohesive user experience. The team works in an insights-driven way, partnering with internal product teams to ship intuitive and beautiful software efficiently.

The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on
  • Driving the adoption of the design system and other building blocks to influence how they are used by internal teams.

  • Building and scaling reusable systems like design tokens, UI components, and global capabilities to power high-quality experiences.

  • Establishing best practices and roadmaps that reflect a ruthless prioritisation of customer and consuming team needs.

  • Cultivating healthy relationships across product, design, and engineering to ensure effective and efficient ways of working.

This role offers flexibility in how we work, with a mix of remote and in-office options based in Melbourne or Sydney. We value personal connection and look forward to meeting in person once or twice a year to collaborate and connect as a team.

  • A natural ability to navigate complex environments and a self-starter attitude helps you drive progress and achieve outcomes.

  • You are a clear and engaging communicator who can concisely tell the story of a problem and why it needs to be solved.

  • Your experience includes collaborating with diverse stakeholders to influence outcomes and realise commercial or customer goals.
