About the team
Software runs the world, and Atlassian is transforming how teams plan, build, and operate that software. Developers face constant friction in their daily workflows-context switching, repetitive tasks, and information overload. To help, our DevEx and DevAI teams are on a mission to enhance developer productivity and experiences across our product suite and beyond. We're not just enhancing the way developers work today-we're actively shaping how they'll collaborate with AI tomorrow. We know that every minute saved in a developer's workflow compounds across teams, organizations, and the wider tech industry, so the opportunity for impact in this space is enormous.
Join us to create what's next-help us build the intuitive, intelligent experiences that will power the next generation of software development for millions of developers.

What you'll do
- Craft exceptional developer experiences: Design intuitive, efficient workflows that remove friction and streamline the software development lifecycle
- Enhance workflows with AI where appropriate: Identify opportunities where AI can transform tedious tasks or provide assistance, positioning it as a natural extension of the developer's toolkit

- Own the end-to-end process: Drive the design process from problem definition to final implementation for complex DevEx features and AI-powered enhancements
- Partner with product and engineering: Collaborate closely with product to define problems, prioritise, and shape success metrics, and with engineering to build your solutions, work through constraints, and ensure we deliver a high-quality experience to customers
- Understand and advocate for developers: Deeply research developer workflows and pain points, bringing their perspective into design decisions and ensuring solutions truly solve their problems
- Balance technical and user needs: Find the sweet spot between technical constraints, AI capabilities, and user needs to create practical but impactful solutions

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
