What You'll Do
- Serve as a key connector between brand, product design, marketing, and engineering-collaborating with strategists, managers, designers, and partners to deliver user-centered brand experiences aligned with Atlassian's strategy.
- Partner closely with the Brand Strategy team to drive consistency and clarity across the Atlassian brand system. Own, maintain, and evolve usable guidelines that help teams apply the brand with confidence.
- Collaborate with Brand Strategy and Product Design to explore future-looking concepts for the Atlassian portfolio, contributing to vision work and influencing roadmaps through thoughtful design exploration.
- Design and evolve scalable systems, foundations, components, and patterns-working independently and in close collaboration with web, product design, and engineering teams-to ensure cohesion across experiences and design libraries.
- Lead brand identity development for new products and in-product experiences, including asset creation and style guide development.
- Partner with research and analytics to gather insights, validate design decisions, and iterate based on user feedback and testing.
- Support Creative Operations by enabling internal teams and external partners with clear assets, tooling, and documentation, contributing to continuous improvement of how the brand is scaled and applied.
Qualifications
On Day One, You'll Bring
Experience & Craft
- 5+ years of professional design experience in brand, creative, and/or product design.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating experience with complex brand systems and/or digital products.
- Deep understanding of design fundamentals-typography, layout, color-and the ability to apply design principles, processes, and strategy to real-world problems.
- Experience contributing to vision- and strategy-level brand work through concept development and exploratory design.
- Experience working with design systems, including contributing to their evolution and understanding how they are implemented across teams.
Tools & Systems
- High proficiency in Figma, including tokens, variables, prototyping, and animation.
- Experience creating and maintaining shared tooling that enables consistency across design teams (e.g., Figma libraries, digital asset management systems, Canva).
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Keynote.
- Experience creating clear documentation, processes, and tooling for diverse audiences.
Collaboration & Communication
- Proven experience collaborating in agile, cross-functional environments.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with confidence presenting work and design decisions to peers, partners, and leaders.
- Comfort soliciting, receiving, and applying feedback, with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to balance the needs of multiple audiences and clearly articulate tradeoffs.
Execution & Ownership
- Ability to manage scope, timelines, and stakeholder alignment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Proactive in identifying risks or blockers and proposing practical solutions.
