Senior Performance Test Engineer

About the role  
  

We're seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to plan, design, and execute performance testing across Customer and Technology platforms for projects and BAU, following the TCoE performance testing strategy and framework. Your work will ensure scalable, reusable, and auditable test standards, supporting the ongoing maturity of our performance test capability. 

You will utilise tools such as LoadRunner and JMeter to deliver robust, reliable performance testing.  

As our Senior Performance Test Engineer, you’ll lead performance testing as necessary and contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work. 

Day-to-day, you will:  
  

• Plan and execute performance and load testing across our applications, products, and services  

• Provide technical direction and leadership for performance testing initiatives, including effort estimation and resource planning  

• Develop and implement best practice test standards that are scalable, reusable, and auditable  

• Drive continuous improvement in our performance testing practices and technology ecosystem  

• Work with development teams to assess system changes and implement strategic testing solutions  

• Manage performance testing environments and collaborate with third-party vendors  

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:  
  

• Strong technical background in performance testing using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner 

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), version control, and AWS environments 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into effective test solutions 

• Great communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels 

• Experience testing complex integrated platforms in an agile environment
