Latitude Financial Services operates a partially outsourced payroll model, with payroll processing managed by Frontier Software. The Payroll Senior Specialist will act as the key conduit between Frontier and Latitude, ensuring payroll services are delivered accurately, efficiently and with a

strong employee experience.

This role will backfill the Payroll Manager while they oversee Latitude’s payroll transformation project, providing senior operational payroll support across end-to-end payroll delivery, employee queries, payroll files, data audits, compliance, tax and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for Frontier Software across Australia and
  • New Zealand payroll matters.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll activities, including payroll files, sign-off
  • processes, employee queries and issue resolution.
  • Support payroll frameworks, policies, processes, controls, reporting
  • and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with People Operations, Reward and Finance to maintain
  • payroll data integrity across Workday, Chris21 and Time & Attendance
  • systems.
  • Drive automation, including appropriate use of AI, to improve payroll processes, reporting and employee experience.
  • Develop and maintain payroll reporting for People & Culture, management, Board, Remuneration & People Committee and annual reporting requirements.
  • Act as custodian of payroll data, ensuring information is accurate, complete, maintained and stored in line with Latitude requirements.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide practical payroll advice to support business decision-making.
  • Act as delegate for the Payroll Manager where required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior payroll role, including strong hands-on payroll delivery.
  • Direct experience with iChris or Chris21 payroll systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, tax, superannuation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working within an outsourced or partially outsourced payroll model.
  • Strong Excel capability, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts and lookups.
  • Strong HR systems knowledge, ideally Workday or a similar platform.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical, communication and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive ownership and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Payroll, Business, Commerce or Law, or equivalent professional experience.
