About You

The Senior Officer, Events and Experience plays a key role in delivering engaging student, industry and College-wide events that create meaningful connections and memorable stakeholder experiences across STEM College. Some events include Orientation and Open Day for STEM College, activations at Grand Prix, capstone events at the Melbourne Convention Centre and Student Prize ceremonies. Working closely with academic teams, industry partners and internal stakeholders, you’ll coordinate the planning and delivery of events, including logistics, communications and marketing collateral, database management and reporting. You’ll also provide practical advice to stakeholders and contribute to continuously improving event processes and experiences.

This hands-on role is ideal for an organised and collaborative events professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

It’s important to note that the position involves some physical activity, including standing for long periods of time during events and requires occasional work outside standard business hours.

To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:

  • Proven event coordination experience and planning skills to ensure milestones are achieved and objectives are met.

  • Demonstrated relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collegiately with academic and professional staff, students, and external stakeholders of different backgrounds and levels of seniority.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a demanding high-volume environment with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and contribute practical improvements in a dynamic event delivery environment.

  • Commitment to quality service delivery and sensitivity regarding confidential communications.

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in computer software packages including MS365, Adobe Creative Cloud and electronic direct mailing services with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to learn new technical skills.
