Job Description

Lead the media strategy that that drives paid media effectiveness to support GYG's growth through our marketing activities.

GYG is on a high-growth trajectory, and media is how the brand reaches Australians at the scale the business needs. The Senior Media Planning Manager owns the annual and quarterly media strategy, manages a multi-million dollar media investment, and leads GYG's relationship with its media agency. This is a role for someone who is equally at home as a strategic subject matter expert and a commercial operator.

What You'll Do

  • Develop GYG's annual and quarterly media strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Manage GYG's multi-million dollar media investment across all channels
  • Build integrated media plans across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Lead GYG's relationship with its media agency — set clear briefs, manage feedback and alignment and ensure recommendations are commercially robust
  • Establish measurement frameworks for all campaigns and analyse performance to translate insights into future planning
  • Drive the Local Area Marketing paid strategy and implementation, including supporting new restaurant openings
  • Partner with Finance and Insights leads to manage forecasting, reporting, and investment decisions
  • Identify emerging media opportunities and recommend innovative approaches that keep GYG culturally relevant

What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience (e.g. 8+ years) in media planning, media strategy, or integrated marketing
  • Experience managing significant media budgets across multiple channels
  • Strong understanding of brand building, performance marketing, and customer acquisition
  • Understanding and experience of methods of measurement, analytics and optimisation including MMM
  • Experience leading external media agency relationships, or working within media agencies in leadership roles
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into action
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Passion for building iconic brands in fast-paced, high-growth environments
