As a Senior Manager in Group Credit Structuring, you'll work directly with regional commercial and agribusiness customers in financial difficulty, understanding what has changed, assessing their financial and commercial position and determining the right path forward. This role also carries people-leadership responsibilities, with at least one direct report to guide, develop and support. No two situations are the same, so you'll draw on credit expertise, financial analysis and commercial judgement to solve complex, evolving problems. You'll balance customer outcomes with the Bank's credit, commercial, regulatory and compliance requirements, and you won't just recommend a course of action, you'll own it end to end.

  • Lead and develop at least one direct report, building capability and strengthening team culture.
  • Engage with customers in financial difficulty with care and consideration.
  • Conduct robust financial and credit analysis to identify realistic options.
  • Develop and execute strategies spanning rehabilitation, turnaround, restructuring and, where appropriate, insolvency or exit.
  • Lead sensitive and challenging negotiations with customers and stakeholders.
  • Own strategies from decision to execution, adapting as circumstances change.
  • Balance customer outcomes with credit risk, commercial, regulatory and compliance obligations.
  • Provide credit monitoring, reporting, policy implementation and guidance to Risk teams and business partners.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

  • Bring business, commercial or agribusiness credit experience, with agribusiness exposure highly regarded.
  • Apply advanced financial analysis and credit assessment skills to make sound risk decisions in complex situations.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, explaining complex issues in writing and in person.
  • Take an empathetic, supportive approach to customers, with the courage to be firm, fair and pragmatic.
  • Bring sound knowledge of lending products, strategies and policies, and an understanding of banking and finance legislation.
  • Build trusted relationships and engage, influence and constructively challenge stakeholders.
  • Bring experience leading or developing others, or the readiness to take on people-leadership responsibilities.
  • Show tenacity and adaptability, willing to challenge assumptions, explore options and see complex matters through.

If this opportunity excites you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
