Senior Manager, Risk Culture

Do work that matters

At CommBank, we’re committed to building a culture where strong risk decisions are embedded in how we think and act every day. Within Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A), we provide independent, objective assurance to Management and the Board Audit Committee, supporting confident, well-informed decision-making across the Group.

As a Senior Manager, Risk Culture, you will play a key role in helping us understand how behaviours shape risk outcomes and how we can strengthen these across the organisation. This is an opportunity to influence how risk culture is assessed, embedded, and continuously improved at scale.

See yourself in the team

You’ll join a specialist Risk Culture team within GA&A, focused on understanding the behavioural drivers of risk and embedding these insights into audit outcomes.

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll work closely with audit teams and senior stakeholders across the business to ensure behavioural insights are clearly articulated, actionable, and consistently applied.

Your impact

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Risk Culture & Non-Financial Risk, you will lead the delivery of risk culture assessments and look to continuously improve how behavioural drivers are identified and reflected in audit outcomes.

You will:

  • Work at the intersection of audit, behavioural insight, and enterprise risk, bringing a unique lens to how culture drives outcomes
  • Lead end-to-end risk culture assessments, shaping how we evaluate behavioural drivers of risk across the organisation
  • Partner with audit delivery teams to embed behavioural insights into broader audit reviews, not just stand-alone assessments
  • Translate complex behavioural inputs into clear, evidence-based audit insights that influence decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement in how risk culture is assessed across GA&A
  • Bring a willingness to contribute to broader audit delivery, including standard non-financial risk audits, where your skillset can add value

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Bring strong analytical thinking and judgement, with the ability to interpret complex and sometimes ambiguous information
  • Lead meaningful, insight-driven conversations with stakeholders at all levels
  • Can connect disparate data points to uncover underlying patterns and drivers
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, translating insights into practical, actionable outcomes
  • Are comfortable engaging with senior leaders, influencing thinking and contributing constructively to discussions
  • Show curiosity about how behaviours shape outcomes in complex environments, and can turn observations into clear next steps
  • Have experience in audit, risk, consulting, behavioural science, psychology or other analytical disciplines

If this sounds like you, please apply now!

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
