Hastings Deering (Australia) LtdWe’re seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to lead the consolidated financial reporting for Sime Industrial Australasia and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial outcomes. In this pivotal role, you will manage group reporting cycles, drive technical accounting assessments, oversee external audit processes, and maintain high standards of financial governance.
You will also provide financial reporting and compliance support for the Terra CAT NZ dealership, ensuring strong operational alignment and best‑practice financial management across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated group financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Coordinate period‑end close processes and manage external audits, ensuring high-quality outcomes and unqualified audit opinions.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and support technical accounting reviews for commercial and corporate transactions.
- Oversee reporting, compliance, cashflows, budgets, and analysis for Terra CAT NZ dealership subsidiaries.
- Maintain strong balance sheet reconciliations and contribute to a disciplined “no surprises” financial culture.
- Support finance systems (AX) users and contribute to finance transformation and process automation initiatives.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, group reporting submissions, and regulatory reporting (e.g., ABS surveys).
What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualification
- Minimum 4 years’ accounting experience within a large corporate finance environment or Big 4
- Strong knowledge of consolidation processes and accounting policies
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements
- Hands‑on experience preparing Statutory Financial Statements
- Demonstrated ability to provide informed advice on accounting and management queries
- Strong technical and numerical capability, including advanced Microsoft Office skills
