About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Ornata, you will build mission-critical command and control software for autonomous tractors. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will own and evolve the cloud and interface layer that bridges machinery in the field with operators managing them.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, real-time systems, geospatial visualisation, and robotics. You will solve complex challenges in high-concurrency streaming, telemetry ingestion, human-in-the-loop control, and safety-critical system design.
Your Duties & Responsibilities
Cloud Ownership: Design, build, and maintain Ornata’s AWS-based platform powering real-time monitoring and remote control of autonomous tractors.
Real-Time Interfaces: Develop high-performance React/TypeScript applications to consume live IoT data and video feeds with low latency.
Geospatial Engineering: Build map-based tools for path planning and visualisation of large geometric datasets.
System Architecture: Contribute to the design of scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with robotics and embedded engineers to ensure seamless cloud-to-edge workflows.
Reliability & Observability: Implement platform-wide monitoring and take ownership of production system health, uptime, and security.

Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Strong full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, and Python.
Proven experience building production systems on AWS (serverless, event-driven, or IoT workloads).
Experience with real-time systems, streaming architectures, or high-concurrency applications.
Strong systems design capability with a focus on reliability and performance.
Nice to Haves
Experience with geospatial data and map-based visualisation.
Background in robotics, IoT, or cyber-physical systems.
Experience designing control-room or mission-control style interfaces.
Strong mathematical and geometric background applied to spatial systems, coordinate transformations, or path planning problems.
