Lead and own GYG's brand voice across campaigns and channels. Concept and write headlines, scripts, long- and short-form copy, mentor junior creatives, develop tone-of-voice guidelines, collaborate with art and social teams, and present work to senior stakeholders for national QSR campaign execution.
Company Description
At Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen, our mission has always been to reinvent fast-food. We’re Australia’s only fast-food restaurant to be 100% clean, meaning there are no added preservatives, artificial flavours, added colours or unacceptable additives in our food. We’re incredibly proud of our amazing people, and the unique way we celebrate Mexican culture in everything we do.
Job DescriptionOwn the voice of one of Australia's fastest-growing brands.
You’re the person who sets the copy standard, shapes the tone, and makes every word earn its place across campaigns, social, TVCs, and everything in between.
What You'll Do

- Present work to senior stakeholders and defend creative decisions with confidence
What You'll Bring
- Significant experience (e.g. 8+ years) in a copywriting role within an agency or in-house creative team
- Strong portfolio across long-form, short-form, scripts, and tactical copy
- Demonstrated ownership of campaigns from concept through to broadcast and retail execution
- QSR, FMCG, or major consumer brand exposure preferred
- Strong conceptual thinker not just a writer for hire
- Comfortable presenting work to senior stakeholders and defending creative decisions
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of language, grammar, and craft
What You'll Love
- Join one of Australia's fastest-growing restaurant companies
- Real influence in a marketing function that's investing heavily in its capability
- Annual short-term incentive scheme
- GYG restricted shares, earned each year through our long-term incentive scheme
- Up to 5 weeks of annual leave each year (ask us how)

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
