About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Internal Auditor on a 12-month contract, who will be responsible for internal audit project management and delivery of internal audit projects, including scoping, field work, data analytics and audit reporting.
Key to the role will be the ability to execute high quality work, develop trusted relationships at all levels across the business and to promote and maintain a positive and transparent audit culture throughout the organisation.

Day-to-day, you will:
Co-ordinate a portfolio of internal audit projects and compliance activities, including the key administrative tasks required to be able to deliver the audits as part of the Internal Audit plan
Execute the delivery of audit engagements including the scoping, development of test plans, data and analytics testing, fieldwork and drafting of reports detailing results and observations
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders during and post engagements
Support the internal audit annual planning activities, including co-ordination of key administrative activities
Working in collaboration with the risk management team, prepare and execute risk/control assessments for each internal audit
Ability to challenge and evaluate risk management processes
Understand and audit compliance programs and regulatory requirements
Create the first draft of audit reports, audit committee papers and any other internal audit material as directed
Assist and execute other special project activities
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Technology or a related discipline
Strong and proven controls experience as an Internal Auditor, IT Auditor or Data Analytics consultant
Strong technical skills in internal audit, and a thorough understanding of a range of strategic, financial and operational process risks and controls
High level of attention to detail and the proven ability to facilitate the timely and effective execution of Internal Audits
Sound knowledge of Risk management, internal control principles and assurance
An ability to lead and operate autonomously
Strong ability to analyse information quickly using innovative solutions and to solve complex problems
Experience in developing constructive and practical recommendations to improve processes, controls and reduce risks
Communication and influencing skills must be a key strength, as your ability to engage and build relationships with executives and staff will be critical to your success
Proven experience of reporting and presenting to senior management
