We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compliance Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be focused on maintaining a robust compliance framework, analyzing regulatory change, providing advice and regularly monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures and procedures that CPU ANZ has in place.

A role you will love
In this role you are responsible for operating primarily at a local (ANZ) level but also involves some collaborative work with Compliance teams across the globe in support of compliance frameworks and reporting activities. All work must be undertaken within agreed timeframes and to a high level of accuracy. You are also expected to work collaboratively with other Compliance, Risk and first line of defence colleagues in ANZ and overseas to support continuous improvement of the Compliance Risk Framework and project activity related to the role.
Some key responsibilities:
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards. Examples include Privacy, AML, AFSL, ASX/NSX Operating frameworks
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks within the organization.
- Creating and updating compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory changes and business needs.
- Conducting training sessions for employees to promote awareness and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Implementing monitoring programs to ensure ongoing compliance and preparing reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Providing expert advice to various business units on compliance-related matters and supporting them in implementing compliant practices.
- Providing support in the handling of external client issues and regulatory inquiries
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, such as legal teams, regulators, and auditors, is crucial for successful compliance management.
What will you bring to the role?
Extensive experience within a financial services role, ideally with a compliance and / or reporting background, for an ASIC or APRA regulated firm.
Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards along with in depth knowledge of local regulatory environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field
