About this role:

Renaissance has new vacancy opening for Senior Business Development Manager , to join our growing team in  Renaissance Australia.

The Senior Business Development Manager  is responsible for driving high-impact commercial growth across the Australian early childhood, primary and secondary education sector by acquiring and nurturing new key accounts and school partnerships. This strategic sales role combines consultative solution selling, market analysis, and relationship management to expand Renaissance’s reach across independent, Catholic, government, and international schools. 

Ideal for a sales professional with a background in EdTech, SaaS, or educational services, this role suits someone passionate about education and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The consultant will develop and execute targeted plans to support continued growth, with a focus on increasing market share. 

The successful candidate will be culturally aware, confident presenting to diverse audiences, and skilled in delivering tailored solutions across a broad and dynamic education landscape. 

Senior Business Development Manager , Job Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development 

  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the ELC and  K–12 education market in Australia. 
  • Conduct outreach to school leaders, administrators, and decision-makers to introduce Renaissance's assessment and practice solutions. 
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to exceed sales targets and KPIs. 
  • Lead on contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and deal closures 
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of qualified leads using CRM systems and tools. 

Consultative Engagement 

  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations, both virtually and in person, tailored to each school’s needs. 
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge and serve as a subject matter expert on the Renaissance suite. 
  • Understand the educational landscape in Australia to provide contextually relevant solutions that meet curriculum standards and data needs. 

Relationship Management & Account Growth 

  • Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with new clients to support long-term growth. 
  • Collaborate with customer success teams to ensure seamless handoff and ongoing engagement. 
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within new accounts. 

Events & Brand Representation 

  • Represent Renaissance at key education conferences, networking events, and trade shows across Australia. 
  • Assist in hosting and delivering school-based seminars and webinars to build awareness and generate demand. 
  • Cultivate thought leadership by engaging educators as advocates, case study contributors, or guest speakers. 

Market Intelligence & Strategic Input 

  • Maintain a strong understanding of educational policies, trends, and data in the ELC and K–12 sector to support business growth. 
  • Provide feedback from the field to help shape product development, marketing, and go-to-market strategy. 
  • Analyse competitive positioning and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities. 

Skills and experience required:

Essential 

  • 5+ years of new business sales experience in the education, EdTech, SaaS, or B2B services sector.
  • Proven ability to close consultative, high-value deals and achieve/exceed sales targets.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with experience selling to senior leaders in schools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and comfortable working independently.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), Microsoft Office, and online collaboration tools.

Highly Desirable 

  • Experience working within or selling into ELCs, K–12 schools or education organisations.
  • A background in teaching, school leadership, or educational consulting.
  • Knowledge of the Australian curriculum and school funding models.

Additional Information:

We offer a base salary of between$ AUD 120,000.00 - $ AUD 130,000.00 depending on experience, Plus the opportunity to earn $ AUD 70,000 in commission annually, this role is based out of our Darling Harbour, Sydney on a Hybrid work patterns working from the office a minimum 2 days a week.
