Join us as a Senior Business Analyst (ORBIS) at Dedalus, one of the World’s leading healthcare technology companies, on our Product and Development team in Australia to do the best work of your career and make a profound impact in providing better care for a healthier planet.
What you’ll achieveAs a Senior Business Analyst – Integration Focus, you will lead the definition and delivery of integration capabilities within Dedalus’ next-generation EMR platform, ORBIS. Your focus will be on enabling seamless data exchange through HL7 messaging and FHIR standards, supporting clinical workflows and enhancing system interoperability.
Working with an extended highly skilled team, you will be making a profound impact throughout the healthcare sector.
What you will do:
- Work very closely with the Orbis Product Manager to define, refine, and prioritize integration features that support interoperability across the ORBIS Electronic Medical Record (EMR). This includes crafting detailed specifications for HL7 v2/v3 messaging and FHIR-based APIs, ensuring they align with both global standards and local clinical requirements.
- Lead the end-to-end analysis and documentation of business requirements for integrating Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) with the ORBIS EMR. This involves understanding data flows, clinical use cases, and system dependencies to ensure seamless and secure exchange of diagnostic and laboratory data.
- Support the mapping, optimization, and validation of Patient Administration System (PAS) workflows within the EMR ecosystem. Focus areas include patient registration, admission, discharge, transfer (ADT), scheduling, and billing processes—ensuring these workflows are accurately represented and interoperable across systems.
- Translate complex integration requirements into clear, actionable specifications for development teams. This includes creating interface control documents (ICDs), data mapping guides, and workflow diagrams that support accurate implementation and testing.
- Support pre-sales engagements and product development cycles by offering domain expertise, participating in integration architecture discussions, and contributing to the development of interoperability standards and healthcare data exchange practices. Assist in shaping solution offerings that align with the evolving needs of healthcare providers and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and manage clinical safety risks associated with system integration, ensuring that all integration points are assessed for potential impact on patient safety and clinical workflows. Collaborate with the Clinical Safety and Quality Assurance team to embed safety checks throughout the software development lifecycle.
