Role Objective:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Bookings Manager to oversee and optimise the event booking calendars for Palais Theatre, Anita’s Theatre, and Festival Hall. This role is responsible for securing and managing venue bookings, developing special events, and driving business growth through new client engagements. The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong industry relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure smooth event settlements. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned venue professional to contribute to the success and growth of some of Australia's most iconic venues.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Booking Calendar Management: Manage and optimise the booking calendars for Palais Theatre, Anita’s Theatre, and Festival Hall, ensuring strategic alignment and maximum utilisation in alinement with the venue booking policies.
  • Venue Special Events Development: Lead the development and execution of venue-produced special events, particularly at Anita’s Theatre and Festival Hall.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, agents, and clients to maximise show count and venue opportunities.
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the venue’s event portfolio.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Collaborate with the National Bookings & Special Events Manager to negotiate artist fees and non-standard venue hire agreements.
  • Event Settlement & Reporting: Oversee event settlements in coordination with the Finance and Venue Managers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Operational Excellence
    : Ensure all booking processes, hire agreements, and settlements are executed efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and marketing, to ensure seamless event delivery.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in venue or event booking, content programming, or function sales.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, agents, and clients.
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in contract management and artist fee negotiations.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail in managing contracts, event statuses, and settlements.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in venue management software (e.g., VenueElite/Momentus) and Microsoft Office.
