This Senior Analyst, Technology AP role is a fixed term maternity leave contract.
Job Description Summary
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for project-based development activities to meet business requirements, aligned to Invesco’s global technology standards and best practices. Development activities include analysis and design, testing, documentation, project management and business communications, using Agile/Scrum development methodologies. The Analyst will also be responsible for assisting in the support and maintenance of existing local and global systems and platforms, with an innovative mindset and as part of a one-team ‘OneTech’ superior organisation.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, design, build and test solutions and enhancements.
- Complete all tasks related to analysis, building, unit testing, quality assurance, system testing and implementation in accordance with the development life cycle.
- Understand client business and make recommendations and technology suggestions to solve problems and improve efficiency.
- Stay abreast of development trends, learn new technologies, and analyze impact of new technologies.
- Contributing to the migration of on-premise applications and data sets to the cloud.
- Conform to documentation, coding and quality standards as required.
- Review, discuss, and work within agreed timeframes and provide feedback to managers on any variances arising as tasks are performed.
- Prepare for and support user acceptance testing.
- Prepare all necessary documentation and processes to enable ongoing support of the systems.
- Communicate with internal and external customers, supervisors and management using clear, user-friendly terminology (emails, phone, meetings, etc.) .
- Assist project and line managers in producing estimates for the development phase of projects and enhancements.
- Other ad hoc duties, as required.
Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience focused in data & solution engineering with 7+ years overall working experience.
- 5+ years of experience in developing PowerBI reports and Power Queries specifically to meet business needs.
- 3+ years of experience with ETL/SQL including fundamental and optimization query techniques.
- 3+ years of experience programming languages such as C#, Python, PowerShell
- Experience with .NET and VB (Visual Basic) looked upon favourably.
Expertise in the following areas:
- Business Intelligence / Data visualization, ideally Power BI
- Data warehousing using Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake
- Data processing technologies & techniques such as ETL, SSIS, Apache Airflow
- Experience operationalizing data sourcing/loading including automating/scheduling data ingestion
- Familiar with Agile software development.
- Familiar with DevOps pipelines and techniques.
