About the Role

BDO’s Business Services team partners with emerging businesses, fast‑growing corporate groups, and high‑net‑worth individuals across all industries. We deliver a full suite of advisory and compliance services including growth and strategic planning, financial modelling, business mentoring, tax advisory, due diligence, and accounting support. Our collaborative culture ensures you are supported by experienced professionals who are passionate about helping clients succeed.

We are seeking an Experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Business Services team in Melbourne. In this role, you will contribute to high‑quality compliance and advisory work across a diverse portfolio of clients (including SME's, small businesses, high net worth individuals and investment companies & trusts), while developing your technical capability and advancing your career in a supportive, high‑performing environment. You’ll work closely with Partners and Directors, gaining exposure to complex matters and contributing to impactful client outcomes. You will also enjoy managing your your own clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare a range of financial statements in accordance with regulatory, accounting and financial reporting standards across various industries;

  • Prepare income tax returns for a variety of entities including companies, trusts and high net worth individuals;

  • Support tax planning initiatives and assist with technical advice relating to business operations and regulatory matters.

  • Deliver business and tax advisory services such as business structuring, performance improvement and growth advisory.

  • Build strong relationships across the wider Business Services team and maintain exceptional service standards for clients, including direct client contact.

  • Assisting in mentoring and supporting junior team members.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Experience within a professional services or public practice environment.

  • Strong interest in taxation, advisory and business services.

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capability, with high attention to detail.

  • Prior experience managing your own clients

  • Experience managing and supervising more junior staff

  • Proactive, collaborative and client‑focused approach to work.

  • Have completed their CA or CPA qualification.
