The Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead security operations at one of Australia's most dynamic entertainment and hospitality destinations.

As Security Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing Crown Melbourne's security operations, ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, team members and visitors. Reporting to the Head of Security, you will oversee operational performance, risk management, emergency preparedness and workforce leadership while driving exceptional customer experiences across the resort.

You will play a critical leadership role, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, emergency services and contracted security providers, to maintain Crown's high standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of Crown Melbourne's security function, ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

  • Drive operational excellence through effective leadership, workforce planning and performance management.

  • Lead security risk management initiatives, identifying and mitigating potential threats across the business.

  • Oversee emergency management preparedness, incident response and recovery programs.

  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, regulators, emergency services and external security partners.

  • Provide strategic advice and support on security operations, risk management and compliance matters.

  • Lead, coach and develop security leaders and team members, fostering a high-performing and customer-focused culture.

  • Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery and resource allocation.

  • Manage contracted security providers, ensuring service and resourcing requirements are achieved.

  • Support the delivery of departmental strategies, business initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.

About You:

You are a highly capable security professional with proven leadership experience managing large-scale security operations in complex environments.

You bring strong operational expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead teams through dynamic and challenging situations. Your proactive approach to risk management and passion for developing people allows you to successfully balance safety, compliance and customer experience outcomes.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing security operations and operational workgroups.

  • Extensive experience in security operations, investigations, security risk management or a related discipline.

  • Strong experience managing emergency and critical incident responses.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution capabilities.

  • Experience managing operational budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and senior stakeholder engagement.

  • Experience within hospitality, events, entertainment, tourism or other customer-facing environments will be highly regarded.
