Hastings Deering is on the hunt for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety & Sustainability division. This is a permanent, full-time (Monday to Friday) opportunity based out of our Rockhampton office.
Reporting to the Safety Manager the primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate all aspects of Health, Safety, Sustainability & Risk Management for Hastings Deering employees working within our operations teams.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
Provide expert advice and assistance to facilitate a safe working environment and ensure that all work practices are in accordance with Company policy and recognised and legislated Work Health & Safety regulations and procedures
Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance
Assist in the maintenance and optimisation of the Safety Management System in accordance to Hastings Deering and legislative requirements
Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations as required
Coordinate incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions
Ensure environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
Develop and implement site-specific safety strategies and initiatives

Required Skills and Competencies:
Formal qualification/s in Work Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety)
HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (desirable)
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role
Incident investigation and reporting experience
