About Cutcher & Neale

In July 2025, BBB Partners merged with Cutcher & Neale, bringing together a locally recognised Melbourne firm with one of Australia's leading financial services businesses. While this role is based in the BBB Partners Melbourne office, you'll enjoy the professional growth opportunities of being part of a national firm with more offices in Sydney, Brisbane, and Newcastle.

At Cutcher & Neale and BBB Partners we are True Professionals who believe in being Stronger Together by empowering our people to be their best and do their best work. We do this by providing a supportive team environment, ongoing professional and personal development opportunities, and a genuine balance between work and life commitments.

It is important to us to match the right people to the right roles in the right locations. This role is open to candidates who are able to join our team in either the Melbourne, Sydney, or Newcastle office locations.

Your new opportunity

We’re looking for a Risk Insurance Advisor to join our Investment Services team. In this client-facing role, you’ll be responsible for advising clients on their insurance needs by understanding their financial position and tailoring personal insurance solutions that provide protection in the event of a Life, Trauma, TPD or Income Protection event. You’ll work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality advice, exceptional service, and peace of mind when it matters most.

What you'll do
  • Meet with clients and respond to queries to understand and support their insurance needs
  • Deliver tailored, strategic insurance advice aligned to each client’s personal and financial goals
  • Coordinate the end-to-end implementation process in partnership with our skilled paraplanning and administration teams
  • Proactively review and update insurance strategies to ensure ongoing suitability
  • Review and contribute to advice documents prepared by paraplanners and administrative team members
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external providers
  • Follow structured workflows and keep accurate client records
  • Identify cross-referral opportunities across the Investment Services team
  • Take part in training and development to strengthen technical and client service skills
What you'll bring
  • Have a current Authorised Representative Status
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or a related field
  • Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and RG146 compliance
  • Meet FASEA, TASA and other relevant legislative requirements
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
  • Pragmatic thinker with a genuine focus on creating smart client solutions

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
