The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team. Working within scope of the BDA Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) approval, as an execution focussed Responsible Manager providing program focussed governance over aircraft maintenance and operating activities to support the Republic of Singaporean Air Force (RSAF) CH-47F (SG) Chinook Maintenance and Logistics Support Program. This role is located at the Army Aviation Centre Oakey, Queensland, in support of a Boeing Defence Australia customer.
Responsibilities
  • Within the RSAF program, govern aircraft maintenance execution activities to ensure conformance to the terms of the BDA Maintenance Management System (MMS) and suitability of staff, processes, data and material.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Safety Managers to support the quality and safety management systems.
  • Investigating and coordinating any action resulting from the quality compliance monitoring function.

Experience/Qualifications
  • The ability to achieve Chartered status in an applicable area of practice through Engineering Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment, support and oversight of a technical workforce in an aviation maintenance (or demonstrably similar) environment.
  • Experience with and a working knowledge of an European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) based Part 145 regulated environment is highly desirable.
  • Current or previous experience as a Part 145 Responsible Manager is highly desirable.
  • Understanding and application of an EASA Part 66 and Part M/42 environment is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Defence Force MMS is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of an EASA based MMS is highly desirable.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence decision-making by senior leaders.

Away from Home Location Work Required
Successful applicants will be required to travel and work away from their designated work location for a period of approximately eight consecutive weeks between August and November each year. This provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. We are looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to embrace this aspect of the position.
