About the role

Are you passionate about education, confident in building relationships, and ready to make a meaningful impact?

We’re looking for a people-focused Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help schools across Australia and New Zealand benefit from our platform. You’ll be working with purpose-driven colleagues who genuinely care about improving outcomes in the education sector—and supporting one another along the way.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, connecting with people, and growing professionally in a supportive, collaborative, and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build relationships with schools and uncover opportunities to support them;

  • Lead virtual product demonstrations that clearly show how we solve real challenges;

  • Own and manage your sales pipeline with structure and confidence;

  • Collaborate with marketing on follow-ups from campaigns and events;

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through trust and value;

  • Share feedback and insights from the field to help shape what we build next;

  • Represent the business at education events and conferences (when needed);

  • Contribute to a team culture focused on learning, growth, and innovation.

About You

You're a natural communicator who enjoys connecting with people and making things happen. Whether it's picking up the phone, running a virtual demo, or following up a lead—you bring energy, confidence, and a clear, professional approach to every interaction.

You thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and get genuine satisfaction from helping clients find the right solution. You’re also a team player who’s keen to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive team culture.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • You’re a strong communicator who enjoys helping others and building trust;

  • You bring 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or a similar client-facing role;

  • You’re confident presenting over video and phone, and great at active listening;

  • You’re proactive, organised, and self-motivated—while always being a team player;

  • You’re curious and consultative in your sales approach, focusing on long-term partnerships;

  • You bring a positive, solutions-focused mindset and genuinely care about client outcomes.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with or selling into schools, or a background in the education sector;

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Education, or a related field;

  • Experience working in a start-up or high-growth environment (a bonus, not essential).

Salary & Location
  • The salary for this role is $100k base + commission + super.

  • The ideal candidate will be based in Melbourne and works remotely, with occasional in-person team events throughout the year. However, we are open to candidates from other locations, provided they are available and willing to travel when needed.

Our Benefits

Join a leading global technology brand that offers benefits you’ll actually value, including:

  • Flexible work arrangements that support your unique need;

  • 18 weeks paid parental leave for either parent as well as two weeks paid secondary carer’s leave;

  • Women in Digital membership, granting you access to a host of member industry events and resources;

  • Additional birthday, community giving, wellness and study leave;

  • Our free and confidential Employee Assistance Program counselling service and wellbeing resources;

  • A jam-packed calendar of cultural celebrations and social activities;

  • Global career and professional development opportunities;

  • Salary sacrifice and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
