About the role
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Digital Team working across some exciting projects and initiatives within the front-end of the Bunnings website.
As a Quality Engineer, you will help drive outcomes by maintaining the automation testing program at the delivery team level. Day-to-day activities will include supporting delivery planning, coaching other team members on test automation approaches as well as authoring and maintaining test scripts and enhancing our Playwright test framework. Further, you will work to evolve test automation practices and tooling across the discipline.
What’s involved:
- Manage, update, and enhance our Playwright-based test framework
- Analyse requirements - designing, improving, and developing new API and Playwright test cases
- Participate in planning, technical design review, estimation and requirements elicitation workshops. Define the automation and manual test approach and test process to support feature delivery
- Ensure that the test automation framework and automation code adhere to testing best practices and coding standards
- Be a champion of change and innovation to improve all aspects of testing
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery through automation
Who we’re looking for
This is a hands-on role that will having you focusing on test automation by creating and maintaining automation scripts, and reporting defects and enhancements.
You are the contact point for business stakeholders for your squad in the functional and operational QE phases, so strong communication and the ability to build positive relationships in the business is critical. You bring a pragmatic and positive approach to your work and enjoy championing the QE function throughout the wider business.
You’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience as a Quality Engineer utilising Playwright and Typescript
- Proven ability to write test cases using TypeScript
- Proven experience across various software testing methods, levels, types, and processes and understanding of where they fit in the overall system and product development lifecycles
- Demonstrated experience in Backend API testing: REST, JSON, XML, GraphQL
- Provide testing expertise and advise to stakeholders and other team members to develop automated testing approaches that deliver the greatest benefit and coverage, with the least amount of maintenance and support
- Proven experience in QE practices, understanding of functions in a development team, and experience working on large scale projects
- Experience in test automation design with Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- To be comfortable with basic source control management using git
- Experience in some of the following tools: Jira, Confluence, Selenium, Bruno, Postman, SOAP UI, SQL, Rest, Protractor, Browser Stack
- Experience with cross-browser, cross-device and accessibility testing
- Demonstrated experience in automation testing using Detox is desirable
- Experience testing both web applications and mobile applications (iOS and Android) is desirable
- Experience with benchmarking, load testing and reporting of application performance is desirable
- Experience with accessibility is desirable
