Project Manager

Being a division in Toll Group, Toll Government & Defense provides specialized logistics services across warehousing and distribution, relocation services and outsourced sourcing and procurement services.

The Role

The Project Manager (PM) position is part of the Toll Government and Defence IT Solutions & Service Delivery team responsible for planning and delivering strategic technology applications and related change for operational and customer facing solutions while optimising cost and quality.
As the PM you will be accountable for supporting and managing a range of IT Projects end to end: defining the approach to delivery, planning resource and timelines, and maximising benefits to Toll and Customer. The PM is responsible for managing and driving the project lifecycle end to end – from requirements through to benefits tracking, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting through to risk management and mitigation.

To be successful as a Project Manager, you will need to:

  • Accountable for the delivery of projects to agreed business outcomes.
  • Define the right approach to successfully deliver project scope to budget and timelines.
  • Lead the team through all phases of the project, ensuring robust planning, budgeting, risk identification, and management.
  • Define the business plan for the projects to achieve the outcomes to quality, time, and cost.
  • Ensure the outcomes are aligned to Toll IT and Business Strategy.
  • Mentor and coach the project team – business analysts, operations SMEs, and supporting IT functions to develop capability.
  • Ensure resources are available to deliver the projects – people, systems and financial.
  • Actively encourage innovation and change both in project methodology but also the delivery of project outcomes.
  • Solve for potential business problems and risks through troubleshooting and collaboration across all stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure that customer and business impacts are considered while delivering all projects or programmes of work.
  • Comply with all Toll policies and procedures, including project management, risk management and security.

About You:

  • Degree qualified / tertiary qualifications in a related field
  • Agile, PMI, and/or Prince2 Project management certification
  • 15+ years’ experience delivering system solutions and projects in a logistics, supply chain, and/or operations environment
  • Focus on impactful actions that drive meaningful outcomes.
  • People management as well as WMS system implementations
  • Excel with your proficiency in Microsoft Office365 and essential project management tools.
  • Impress stakeholders with your ability to create and deliver compelling presentations at all levels.
