We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager with expertise in Data Centres to support the current and expected growth of data centre applications across the AusPac region. The Project Manager – Data Centres is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure projects supporting data centre customers. The role will lead cross-functional teams to safely deliver projects involving temporary power, cooling, load banks, generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and associated infrastructure while ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial, quality, and HSE requirements.
The Project Manager will act as the primary customer interface and be accountable for project execution from proposal handover through commissioning, operational support, and project closeout.

What you'll do:

Project Delivery
  • Manage multiple concurrent data centre projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, commissioning, and demobilisation activities.
  • Ensure all project milestones are achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Lead project meetings, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers throughout the process. 
  • Conduct regular project reviews and provide transparent reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and provide clear updates on progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication, expectation management, and issue resolution.
  • Engage key internal stakeholders, including the CX Team, Sales Leadership, and Operations Leadership, to ensure alignment on customer commitments, delivery outcomes, and business objectives.
  • Partner with the Sales Account Manager to maintain a consistent customer engagement approach, ensuring alignment on commercial commitments, customer expectations, and escalation of key issues.
  • Foster collaboration between customer-facing and operational teams to support effective decision-making and project delivery.
Commercial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost control, and profitability.
  • Review and manage contract deliverables and contractual obligations.
  • Identify and manage project change requests and variations.
  • Support business development teams with project scoping, risk assessments, and technical reviews.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Resource & Contractor Management
  • Coordinate internal resources and external contractors.
  • Monitor project team performance and compliance.
  • Ensure project teams are effectively deployed and supported to achieve delivery objectives.
  • Promote collaboration across Operations, Sales, Engineering, Fleet, Supply Chain, and HSE teams.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery performance, cost efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Capture lessons learned and implemented best practices across future projects.
  • Support Lean, Six sigma and continuous improvement initiatives where applicable.

To thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing complex infrastructure, energy, construction, industrial, or data centre projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects within budget and schedule.
  • Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Competent in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Gannt chart design.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working in data centre environments.
  • Experience with power generation, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, UPS, BESS, or critical power systems.
  • Engineering, electrical, mechanical, construction, or project management qualification.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM, or equivalent certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement training.
