Make an impact on Australia's Defence capability
Aurecon is looking for experienced project managers to join our Project Delivery Services (PDS) team, supporting the delivery of important projects for Defence across Australia.
As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of allocated projects and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes for our clients. You’ll coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders, manage project risks and issues, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Aurecon is committed to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation across the organisation and welcomes applications from First Nations people.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and manage projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, Aurecon resources, consultants and contractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with clients, Defence representatives, contractors and stakeholders.
- Manage project risks, issues, variations, budgets, schedules, documentation and quality requirements.
- Promote safety, maintain clear project communication, and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learnt
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for people who are collaborative, practical and comfortable taking ownership of projects and building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
We recognise that skills and experience can be gained in many ways. If you have experience leading people, coordinating activities, working with community, supporting projects, engaging stakeholders, or delivering outcomes, we encourage you to apply. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates with experience in community initiatives, cultural programs, event coordination, or any form of project or program leadership are particularly encouraged to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement listed.
You’ll ideally have:
- Tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant professional experience such as coordinating people, projects, programs, events, or community initiatives
- Experience managing small to medium-sized projects.
- Strong project management, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with project controls, including cost and schedule management.
- An understanding of quality assurance, risk management and contract management.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and WHS.
- The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, matrix environment.
- Project management certification or relevant professional recognition is desirable.
Defence experience is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with Defence security requirements, contract administration or commercial management would be advantageous.
