Opportunity to join our Hitachi Energy, Service Business as Project Engineer for High Voltage Switchgears is now available.

How you will make an impact:

  • You will develop a deep understanding of High Voltage products features, functionality and benefits.

  • You will oversee the engineering for High Voltage Switchgear, this will include conducting design reviews (Primary and Electrical Schematic drawings), and approvals.

  • You will be acting as a specialist and apply advanced concepts and methods, collaborating with team members and assist in addressing product-related queries raised by Hitachi Energy Service team, offering technical assistance and expertise as necessary, including reviewing site reports to identify and implement improvement, acting as a specialist, answering product-related enquiries made by customers, offering technical assistance and expertise as necessary.

  • You will conduct product operation and maintenance training for the customers, prepare project related technical documents.

  • You will support Project Managers with technical issues and on claims (new/change in scope of work, risk quantifications etc.), provide effective quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract, ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.

  • You will complete risk and opportunity assessments and ensure implementation of resulting actions, report any quality / technical issues to the project manager and service manager along with recommendations for resolution, interact with customers, officials, contractors and others, represent as technical expert during meetings with internal and external stakeholders. You will maintain network of engineering professionals and share engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with related industry experience in High Voltage Switchgear.

  • Minimum of 3+years, preferred service experience.

  • Substantial experience in providing (relevant discipline) engineering advice and support including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, constructability reviews, testing and commissioning and applying engineering quality.

  • Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of relevant standards such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards (AS/IEC).

  • Proficient with MS Office package. Able to draft/read drawings.

  • Proficiency in English communication.
