Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team at Hitachi, Ltd. This role will be responsible for the technical planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements while adhering to Hitachi's high-quality standards.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead the technical planning and design phases of assigned projects, including requirements gathering, specification development, and solution architecture.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets effectively, tracking progress and identifying potential risks and deviations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct technical reviews, analyses, and validations to ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and documentation to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within project processes and engineering methodologies.
  • Resolve technical challenges and issues that arise during project lifecycle, collaborating with relevant experts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and Hitachi's internal policies.
  • Support the integration and testing of new systems and technologies.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, representing Hitachi's technical expertise.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project engineering or similar role within a relevant industry (e.g., industrial automation, power systems, IT infrastructure, railway systems).
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile certification is a plus).
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software, project management tools).
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
