Our Team
Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. Your role
The Project Accountant is responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, project tracking, bid & proposal finance, financial engineering, completing periodic reports and general program tasks.
Working from our Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre on Wurundjeri land, your role purpose will be:
- Financial Preparation for Program Reviews: Plan, track, analyse and report financial data for projects across multiple contract types, sizes, complexities, and risk levels
- Program Financial Delivery: Ensure program financials align within contractual baselines by capturing the full scope of programs, identifying risks and opportunities, preparing initial budgets, validating changes and maintaining updated business plans
- Sales and Bid Support: Provide financial assessments and insight to support sales efforts and bid management for new business opportunities
- Revenue Coordination: Work closely with program management, finance, and accounts receivable teams to ensure accurate accounting of all revenue components
- Compliance: Ensure all program financial activities adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Travel: Monthly visits to Benella and Mulwala sites to support onsite financial oversight and coordination
Your experience
- Bachelor or Commerce in Accounting, Business or Finance, CPA/CA (or working towards)
- Ideally have 5 years’ experience n a bids and projects controller position
- Demonstrated experience managing reporting and 6 monthly audits for two sites
- Broad range of experience in the Finance function
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
